Help: Tire Pressure on TV? Leaving tomorrow...

I am leaving in the early in the AM to go camping. I am new to towing and have pulled my TT a couple of times, but wondering if I am doing it right. I usually just leave it at the vehicle's recomended tire pressure (35 psi cold), the max on the tire is 44 psi. Should I max to 44 psi or at least 40 psi. I am pulling roughly 6000lbs a 2008 Rockwood Roo 21SS. I have an Equal-i-zer hitch and Prodigy Brake controller as well.

My tires are:

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo (On-/Off Road All-Terrain)
for 2003 Ford F150 SupCab 4wd 5.4

* Size: 265/70R17
* Serv. Desc: 113S
* UTQG: Treadwear: 500
Traction: A
Temperature: B500 A B

I believe I asked this once before and I was told to run them at Max.

I'd run 'em at 44 psi myself...

I will fill to max 44 psi. We're of this morning to go camping.

Have fun! Let us know how your truck pulls that RV. I'm very interested in that model too.

That TT will likely put you over one or more of your trucks weight ratings. You should probably look into a bigger truck.

That TT won't put his truck over any of the weights unless he loads a lot of stuff in back. A #6000 trailer with #750 tongue weight still leaves him with a fair bit of his #1700 payload left. Won't touch the AWR either.

About to say.. I'm pulling a 6660 pound TT at dry weight and the truck didn't have any problems at all! I was able to pull at 60 to 65 mph with no problems. Its at around 7000 fully loaded. I dont know what the weight is with the truck plus the trailer tho.

I plan on saving some weight by using P-rated tires to keep me under GVWR.

If the trailer manufacturer says 6600 pounds dry weight, that's probably more like 8k pounds ready for camping. Gotta add 10% for options/upgrades on the trailer, plus water, propane, food, clothes, etc. What's GVWR of the RV?

Truck pulled fine on the straights. It did well on hills, as well as to be expected. You're not going to when any races. Filled these tires to 42 psi.

However, I need new shocks thinking of Bilstein HD or Monroe Reflex going to start a thread and ask thoughts on that now.

You can start a new thread, but I had Rancho RS9000s on my 99 F-150 and plan to get the latest adjustable one for my 2003. I like that I can adjust them for towing/heavy payloads vs. empty.
