I seen a supercrew with a 5.5ft bed that had a huge 3 car wedge trailer with 3 cars on it I could believe what I was seeing lol and then I seen a Chevy avalanche at Walmart that had a goose neck horse trailer hooked up. 5.5ft bed seems a little short I mean I have seen the Dodge megacabs that have the really short bed and a lot them the back of the cabs are crushed in. You'll have to becareful when turning for sure.

ya i have max tow and will be adding air bags in the rear. but dont think i will tow a fifth wheel after all. iv seen the dealer at the RV store and found a really good deal on a conventional hitch trailer that has way more than the fifth wheel i was looking at so ill probably just get it. but hay thanks all for your input

You guys that answered and have not tried it or don't have one, do not know what you are talking about.
I have done my homework, bought the right equipment and installed it correctly. We happly go camping whenever we can and have turned more than 90 deg. both forward and backwards.
PM me if you need more information...

I thought the idea of a 5th wheel was to keep the trailer weight and pivot point right on your rear axle...
(not trying to argue, just asking a question)

It's the same fifth wheel bed hitch, the pivot point is simply on the trailer and not the hitch. Hitch is still over the rear axle, it's just angled differently I believe.

The weight is still centered on your axle just the pivot point is at your pin box.
