Trailer lights

Bought me a 16' enclosed trailer. It has the 7 prong plug. It has interior 12volt lights. Went to go turn them on and nothing. I thought it was the trailer lights not working, so I plugged it into my father in-laws F350 and they work. So what I figured out is that my 2005 f150 factory plug is not wired up for this option. So what has to be done to have working lights?

Do you have a brake controller? Do you have the trailer fuses and relays installed?

Your fuse is not installed for the aux charge line.
If you look at the truck plug it is the one located in the 1 o'clock position. It should be hot when the key is on. If it is not you need to locate and install the correct fuse/relay.

Do you know the amperage for the fuse?

Yes I have a brake controller. Don't know what you are talking about as for relays and fuse??? So the 2000 f150's are the same as the 05's?

Read farther down in the thread - SSCULLY included diagrams for his 06 which should be like your 05.

Ya i am in need of relay #5. Anyone have a napa part number? nearest autozone is in min.

Went to my local ford dealer to get my oil changed. When there I asked for one. They gave it to me for free. Since I go there for my oil changes.
