What has anyone paid at their stealer to have their truck reflashed after installing a factory TBC? My stealer quoted me $180

 

You are crazy to give money to a stealer.

 

Well I ordered it today. One service writer quoted me about $350 for it installed and activated. Dealer must install it or warranty on it and trucks electronics are void according to the owner's manual.

Talked to another service writer and his price is much better and he'll make sure that's what I'm charged. For installed and activated, it's now $220, the same as if it was a factory option on the truck. So I went a head and ordered it today.

Now if I could get the tow mirrors installed and purchased for $250, I'd get them. However it looks like at minimum, a $400 price that I'm not willing to pay.

 

$220 is a GREAT price Mike!! My cost through work for just the tbc is $180....

 

The cost of the controller is $185 + $35 install/activation. That price is because I bought the truck through them. Otherwise it would be $300 brake Controller and $35 activation, $75 install. That's what they quoted me not knowing I bought the truck from them.

I would think that your dealer should give you the same cost savings since you bought the truck from them.

 

I told my local dealer that I wanted the latest software for my ECM and TCM because Ford has made the various updates for a reason. They reflashed both for free (2009 F150).

I did this before providing my code to PHP for a custom tune.
