Is the payload 3000lbs?

My new EB is supercab, 6.5,3.73 4X4. I want to add a HD suspension spring and I was told by manager of my dealer that the real payload is 3000lbs so no any other spring should be added. The door sticker shows the combine payload is 1785lbs.

Any opinions will be welcome.

No your payload is not 3000lbs. What is on the door sticker is the real payload.

And you cannot increase the rated payload with springs. If you need to haul 3000#, trade it in for a F-350.

Agreed... ton and a half of bed/cargo/passenger capacity is deep into a one ton territory.

My Ford Truck new sales salesman said my F150 has rack and pinion steering.
I told him if it did I wasn't buying the F150 then!
They spout what they think sounds good or what you want to hear. Training has a lot to be desired...salesman or sales manager.

Hey searched this thread cause I was in the market for a 2011 or 2012 supercab. When building at the ford site, it says the 2012 f-150 supercab has a 2810 lb payload. Is this correct and why so much more than 2011?

Truck ratings have been a one up each other of the major manufacturers for about 10 years.
Anyone who tows or hauls would never put 2800#'s in any 1/2 ton.

BTW the Dodge Dakota has a rack and pinion steering!!
