Hey guys , wondering if you can help me. I am a noob at towing anything with brakes. I just bought an older camper trailer , 16 ft long and pretty light at about 3500 lbs gross weight. The thing is I have a factory tow pkg, and 4 and 7 pin connector at back of my truck. There is a pod bc under dash all wired up. But no light at bc manually or with brake pedal when hooked up to trailer. We put 12v to trailers brake wire and they work. But nothing happens on truck side. Weird thing is , i grounded my test light and started poking around at the bc connections and there is power. keep in mind , all lights and flashers work on trailer just no brakes. I touched the blue wire at bc with the test light (unhooked) and the bc lit up green and flashed red with brakes applied. Idk what to do

You installed the stuff that came in the baggie in yer glovebox, right?

I bought the truck 2 years ago and everything was already hooked up. I looked at the fuse box and the 30 amp fuse is there. tbc is wired to factory wires according to whats supposed to be wired up on the controller sticker.

 

the BC should light up when connected to the trailer
Mine do this:
brake not applied : light yellow
brake applied: light red.

look like you have a bad connection in your 7pin to the trailer.
