Model#?

I became a member the other day and have learned so much about my truck already. Ironically, the transmission in my truck just went south (81,000 miles) but I was able to limp home. My question is the numbers on the passenger side of the tranny dont allow me to decifer if it is a 4R70W or a E40D, the numbers that I see are; PKF-Y 7Y
F75P-7000-KA
042928

Can anyone tell me? Also, I am toying with the idea of changing the tranny myself with an overhauled unit, reviewing the manual it doesn't look like that bad of a job. I have the time, or should I let the pro's do it.

The only automatic ever in a 4.6L F150 is the 4R70W.

How do I determine which transmission is in my '02 F150 FX4 5.4L?

I think I looked once before and figured out it was the 4R70W but now I'm getting ready for a fluid change and want to be sure since the fluid for the 4R70W and the 4R100 are different and not interchangeable.

Read your dipstick. It will say which fluid to use.

Also, there is a blue tag on the driver's door jamb. Under TR is either a U or an E. U means 4R70W and E means 4R100.

Yep I found it already, just hadn't looked long enough before I posted I guess.
