Question Yet another question for dirtyd0g

I finally got the modified tailshaft installed. It was an easy install as you said.
I will try to mail back the core today or tomorrow. I have not yet done the separator plate.

I have a question about torque converters and will address them to you since this is your cup of tea.

I have to install a new long block (4.6L) because I have a coolant leak in the head gasket on my engine and since it has 187,000+ miles and I already have a new short block and heads, I may as well install the new parts.

Now for my questions.

Is there a better torque converter I can use with this engine? I know you have built ones but I have to be frugal since this is hitting me all at one time (just rebuilt the transmission and now the engine).
I have heard that the TC from the 4.6L Cougar is a better unit, is that true?
Do you have an Economy/Improved TC available?

My considerations are as follows:
-I have a centrifugal blower that will be adding about 6lbs at 5000rpm.
-I will be bolting PI heads to a non-PI shortblock so I will have a CR above 10.
That is why I am backing down boost to 6lbs, Mike Troyer is going to tune it for me.
-I regularly tow a 5000lb trailer.
-I want something that won’t balloon at 5500-5700 rpm and perhaps has a little higher then stock stall.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can respond here for others benefit but send prices to wlfclf2000@aol.com
Thanks in advance for your advice.
