transmission

My 98 f150 has a 4.6 and an automatic transmission. when ever it shifts from first to second gear it seems to jump into the gear. is this normal? or is something wrong? transmission fluid level is fine.

What do you mean it jumps into the gear? Is the shift very harsh? Does it flare up and then hit gear? Are you running a tranny cooler? If not then I highly suggest you get one. If it's just a harsh shift then it's possible one of the accumulator piston springs broke and is causing a firmer..yet harsher shift. If it's flaring then you might have something more serious..or it just needs new fluid. Marcon V and a tranny cooler are musts.
