Unhappy 4wd shifting ?????

have a '00 F150 4WD, and was wondering if when shifting out of 4wd high, is there a "lag time" or waiting period for the front transfer case to "shift" out of 4wd???? I am just putting the truck in 4wd high to lube the front transfer case on an occassional basis, but it seems like when I shift out of 4wd high, it doesn't want to go back to 2wd until after I turn off the motor. Is this normal???????????????

Also, is it normal for the steering to be more difficult in 4wd high than in just 2wd???????????????

Thanks

not sure about the lag time, that could be a relay but, the steering being harder is normal....although not too much harder...make sure your not running it on hard ground in 4 wheel that will make it feel real hard to steer as you will be putting loads of stress on your front end parts.

Thanks, I was on the subdivision road and driveway, so will try it off road so to speak, don't do that much if any. Guess I should call the dealer to see for sure. Thanks again.
