Post 4 Wheel Drive low won't disengage...this sucks

i went to a friends and parked my back tire in washout ditch.....That was the passenger side....I thought, no big deal, i can climb out of this...well, under my front drivers side tire was a little gravel and concrete, thus the front drivers side tire was spinning on concrete while the back ones weren't...i figured i would drop it into 1 and use 4 low and have no problem (because I was in D and 4 high)...much to my dismay, i had to use reverse some too, it didn't take much to get me out, but when i flipped my little **** switch thing it didn't disengage....so my truck is at the dealer this morning. I hope it gets fixed today. I have to take a load of stuff 5 hours to home tomorrow morning....MEEK

Mine did that before, all I did was go in reverser for a little bit, and then it came back out.
You also need to make sure you put the trans in neutral and also push the break, or it won't shift.

As Christrucker said, you have to be in neutral, stopped, and pressing on the brake pedal to get out of 4Low.

If you did the above and it didn't disengage, then you did the right thing getting the truck to the shop.

Thanks guys. This all happened last Wed. night. I had to have the truck back by Friday, so I took it in first thing Thursday morning. The Service manager at the dealer got the truck back to me quick, with the 4x4 disengaged. He said that the truck won't disengage on the pavement, because the tires/wheels need to be able to give a little bit. I got out of the dealer pretty dang cheap, since I got the oil changed and tires rotated and balanced while i was there. Peace, Meek
P.S. Chris... NICE TRUCK

Sorry I forgot to tell you about the part about being in pavement. I went (very slowly) to a dirt road and went in reverse and gave it a little gas and then back to neutral and it came out.
