well going by the video, yeah. judging 30-60, mine is about 1 second quicker it seems. like i said tho, that is going strictly from the videos. you should try doing a 0-100 video to compare. i have vids on youtube of mine but thats before i learned how to launch it. i am still not too great but its a hell of a lot better than i used to be when i made the old vids. the ones i posted on here are new but as you can see, there is no launch.

My cousin had a straight piped 4.2 before he traded it in for cash for clunkers.

I thought it sounded absolutely horrible....

i think the best so far is stock. it seems that most mufflers sound very nice at idle but when you get on it, it just amplifies the sound of a V6 IMO. stock sounds fine and i get on it all the time, when leaving work and such, so far, every "car-guy" tells me it sound kinda nice for a 6. so far nobody has had anything bad to say about the sound. one guy who used to work at a dealership said he was surprised by how much sound came out of it. it sounds good to me. if i had a V8 i would be singing to a different tune right now.

How many people are going to hear your truck WOT. Let alone how many people are going to be able to tell its a V6. To the average driver your just another ******* with an loud exhaust killing the o-zone.

LOL! oh by the way, i just re-read you video post....A/C on...so yeah. yours is about 1 seconds slower with your A/C on from 35-60 than mine with A/C off. so i would say about the same. also my engine's peak hp and torque are at different points than yours. still same hp @ 202 but your torque is 252, mine is 260. my peak hp is at a lower rpm than yours but my peak torque is at a higher rpm than yours. i used to have it copied down somewhere but i cant find where i put it. but i know its a fact. 97-05 is 202 and 252, 06-08 is 202 and 260.

a few measly HP or ft-lbs of torque isnt a valid argument seeing as the atmosphere can cause a bigger change in numbers

if its the one you put as 5.4 vs 4.2L i saw it. nice run even tho you had all the non believers. they are just too caught up in thinking a V8 is always faster than a V6.
and raptor, you are right that a few measly hp or torque isnt going to make a difference. but it also depends on how long the powerband is, and where the rpms drop when you shift to the next gear, and where your peak is at. if you have 300Lb-Ft@2000rpms and your shift drops you to 3000, your past your peak and probably near the end of your powerband. so the person who has 280Lb-Ft at 4000rpms and drops into the next gear at 3000 is still going thru their powerband and is probably going to be faster. peak doesnt mean too much if the rest of the rpm range is weaker than the lower peaked truck. mine and blue ovals truck are about the same weight and they are about the same quickness it seems but he has more mods than me. and my 08 which is about 450Lbs heavier than my 04 heritage was gets to 100 about 5 seconds quicker than the 04 did. granted the 04 was 3.08 rear end and 08 is 3.55 but still 450Lbs heavier and still beat it

your OBS must've needed a tune up bad. not only is it 450 lbs heavier, but its got lower gears and drive by wire? you possibly have the weakest of all V6 combinations. ive driven a NBS V6 and you couldn't give me one of those things. no offense but theres no way in hell a NBS 4.2 will outrun a OBS 4.2. did you own both at the same time to get an accurate side-by-side race?

no didnt own them at the same time but i took videos of both and the 0-60 was the same ONLY because the 04 only had 1 shift before it hit 60, the 08 has 2 shifts before 60 so because of that shift they are almost the same. the 08 i would say is a few tenths quicker. so my 04 was 9.58 to 60 and i think my 08 is about 9.0-9.2 ish. but it is definitely quicker than the 04 was. also to 100 the 08 is about 5 seconds quicker than the 04 was. i dont see how you can say the NBS 4.2 is weaker. they have the same hp rating and the NBS one is peaks at a lower rpm and the torque is more but at a higher rpm. to me the ONLY differences are 1-the engines sound different, i think the NBS sounds better from inside, 2-the 08 seems to fall on its face at 5k whereas the 04 did not lose much power, but that is cured by shifting at 5k, and 3- the rev limiters are different. 04 was 5400, 08 is 5200. i have the intake i had on the 04 on the 08 now so there is no difference in airflow except my 08's exhaust is 2.75in and my 04 i think was 2.25 or 2.5 which might be why my 08 sound better. i will load the videos of my 04 and my 08 doing a 0-100.

nope. i bought the 04 heritage with 23k and sold it with 44k. right now my 08 has almost 28k
04 was reg cab longbed 4.2L 2wd 5spd with 3.08 rearend and my K&N 77 series CAI. also had 16 inch steel rims. according to registration it weighed 3897Lbs
the 08 is reg cab shortbed 4.2L 2wd 5spd with 3.55LS rearend and the same K&N intake, has 17 inch steel rims, and according to the registration it weighs 4364Lbs. also has tow package(added weight of hitch and wiring) whereas the 04 did not.
hold on ill post the videos.

Just because it had low miles doesn't mean it didnt need a tune up. If your 04 had 3.55's it would rape your 08 no doubt.
