I wish i could say the same for my motocraft battery. Ive got a 98 with 98k miles, and it wasnt able to turn over my engine this morning when it was 5 degrees outside. I am going to buy a new battery tonight. Most likely the Diehard with 1000 crank amps. I had to jump my battery this morning, and it still took a while for the engine to hold the idle and not die. I think the battery was well frozen.

Correct! Motorcraft batteries (at least the replacement batteries) are manufactured by Johnson Controls who also manufactures Die Hard at Sears, Everstart at Wal-Mart, and owns the Optima Brand.
To Wal-Mart I will go, to Wal-Mart I will go, hi ho the..............

I have a '92 F-150 with the 5.0 that i got new with still the original battery and I live in cold ND. Has never let me down. Was gonna go ahead and put in a new one but dang.....why mess with a good thing. Had the pickup 4 months short of 12 yrs!! I think this is a record. Hope the battery in my '01 f-150 lasts half that long!

I had a 94 F-150 and sold it with 260,000 miles on it. Still had the original battery in it when sold. Took a trip to Mi. this past weekend and stopped by my friends house who I sold it to. Still original battery and has over 300,000 on it now. I never had any problems with the truck and he finally had to change the starter and power steering pump...was leaking out front shaft seal. I consider that great for a 9 almost 10 y/o truck. I did use amsoil in it from 10,000 miles on as well.
I keep jumper cables in my truck at all times, maybe thats why my batteries have worked so well....

My amazing battery lasted 4 years, died in the parking lot at a WalMart after starting flawlessly three times that day. I took it to the dealer after a AAA jump, and had it replaced. What I want to know is, why don't dealers use the same batteries as the factory? My new battery had no green eye to show through the hole in the battery cover. Now it's got a stupid looking hole with a piece of label showing through it??,,,,98
BTW: My old battery still showed green after it died.........
