I have a 91 F150 with the 300 engine in it. Over the last month or so it has been having trouble starting, this is the first time it's doing this. It cranks really slow but does start. The neg battery cable was going bad and the chassis ground wire coming off the neg battery cable was broken, so i replaced the cable, ground wire, and battery (Duralast battery). The previous battery was 5yrs of age so i didn't even bother doing a hydrometer test on it and came from Wal-mart (Everstart). Today i went out to start it and nothing!, didn't hear the fuel pump, the guages, hell even the power door locks were dead. I popped the hood to see if anything had come loose and appears nothing has came loose or broke off. Obviously something is wrong here!!. I have been keeping a little note in back of my mind that maybe the starter is going out??? Maybe the starter is frozen up?? I figure that if i didn't hear anything else, guages, fuel pump, cd player etc... start up then maybe there is a loose wire somewhere (what fun, lol) Any suggestions what could be wrong, stuff to check Tks everyone

You are not getting any power from battery, make sure you have got power at the battery itself, if you do then I would make sure your ground has not come off or loose that you recently fixed. Clean your cables as well.

 

well i jsut found out that my alternator is going out, the guage is reading above normal and it keeps going dead abotu every 3 to 4hrs, so I will clean up the cable and install a new alternator and see what happens, the battery is new too
