Okay...My 5.8 was doing the same thing...the solenoid was clickin, but no start...Checked the battery, everything was fine...What i did, was go underneath the truck, and FIRMLY tap the upper solenoid (located on the starter) with a hammer...If it works, the truck will start...Then you know u just need a new solenoid...If THAT doesn't work, take off the starter, And get a set of jumper cables...Hook them up to your battery, then up to the starter...(positive on a bolt, negative on the other bolt...dont matter which ones) Take a screwdriver, and touch the positive to the only open prong left...If nothin happens, reverse things a little bit, and play around...the bendix should kick out and start spinning...If not, then you know it's the starter...Hope this helps, and if you need more explanation, Just ask!
