Intake sensor mod, anyone tried them?
Has anyone tried these intake sensor mods they are selling on ebay? Do they actually do anything? Sounds like B.S. to me...They are claiming 10-20 HP with a cheap little resistor that costs about 10 cents.

HI!... Just take your IAT out and relocate it to a colder spot. I relocated mine to behind the front grill into the on coming cold air flow about 4 years ago. No problems here. When I relocated it back into the air intake pipe, I went 3 tenths slower in the 1/4 mile.

no flame intended, but could this have something to do with your torching one of your cats a few months back ( running rich, and dumping fuel out the @ss end of the truck ) ?

HI!... Actually my truck burned up my factory cats because I was running massively "LEAN". Doing the IAT relocation mod makes you run slightly richer. In my case I needed a TON richer. Not leaner. I'm still running on the lean side. There's probably about 15 - 20H.P more in my 5.4 once I get a good dyno tune The problem now is just getting time to do one.

For you then, relocating the IAT was not a problem.
You might have wanted to noted that ( you are way lean to start with ) in the first post, less someone else might not know that you are running your truck too lean to start with, do the same mod, and wind up with too rich a mix, and cause other problems.

Would you share with me what exactly you did? I'm in the process of trying to get a service manual for my truck so I'm in the dark regarding where to find the IAT...
TIA !!

HI!... I didn't mention it because 90% of these truck run a bit lean in stock form from the factory. That's how FORD get's their claimed MPG. Now you start doing some of the popular mods, FIPK, larger TB, exhaust...... and you can get get leaner A/F's. Since 90% of F-150 owner's here mod their trucks it would be a good FREE mod for them to do.
B-MAN : The IAT is the intake air temp sensor. It is located in the stock plastic elbow that is between your TB and your air filter canister. It just simply pushes into a rubber grommet. I pulled it out of it's grommet and extended the wire harness about 2FT. I then routed it to in front of my rad by the front grill. Here is a pic of the IAT sensor sticking up out of my hood at the dragstrip.
