Thanks, I thought that was what the answer was going to be
I'm probably going to be rebuilding my uncles engine due to a blown head gasket so I'm trying to get ideas of what to do with it.
Do y'all have any suggestions on a cam recomendations??? He won't be towing with it or racing it ....He's just looking for something with a little bit of kick to it if you know what I mean.
I've heard of a lot of people putting stock 5.0 cams in thier lightnings and having good results.....would this be a good idea for this application?
He still needs to be able to pass a smog test so keep that in mind.
Also I have a 94 Lightning and I know that it is speed density so I'm assuming that the 89 is also....is this correct?
Thanks,
Jason Welch

if you want good cheap cam, find a stock roller cam out of a 5.0 mustang, trucks dont seem to lose any low-end torque with them and gain plenty of power at higher rpm's. plus, the roller valvetrain will make your engine run a lot smoother and you should have no problem passing emissions. by the way, yes it should be speed density.
