Enigine help with 97+

Looking for help with engine choices..between 97-99 model year f-150's. What if any are the differences between the 4.6 and 5.4 during these years? Was anything changed, and what were they rated at?

Thank you for your help.

Derrick

Looking for an F-150 to replace my ranger.

Well if you are looking for power you should consider buying a 99+ truck, as they have the PI (power improved) heads.

Not sure on the specific ratings, I know someone will have the figures.

1997-2000 the 4.6 has 220 hp and 290 lbs/ft of torque. 97-98 the 5.4 has 235 hp and 330 lbs/ft of torque. For 1999 the 5.4 went to 260 HP and 350 lbs/ft of torque. In 2001 the 4.6 went to 231 Hp and 293 lbs/ft of torque.
