Ford can give people remanufactured motors. As well as Transmissions. If that is what you were asking?

No, I understand it will be remanufactured. The question is, that apparently they do not have to give you the exact same type. According to the service rep, I was told that all they guarantee is that it is another 4.6. That it does not necessarily have to be a 4.6 for a truck.

There are different part numbers for each engine, call the parts department and get a part # for your trucks engine. Then turn around and ask for the part # for the Crown Vic. You will see that they have different part numbers. Like my fellow service advisors at my dealership your advisor has no technical knowledge at all. I am the only person in the service drive who knows what goes on when it comes to technical or obvious "how does this work "questions.
Rest assured that you are getting a 4.6 truck engine and not an underpowered Crown Vic engine.

Okay capt jj, I will take your word for it. Under powered crown vic? I thought the crown vic had more power than the truck? I am talking cop pkg, I thought the truck was 210 hp, vic cop was 235. Maybe the people at my dealer have no clue what so ever.

I thought that too. Whenever I search for something on the internet . I use a "search engine" . Is this from the old internet days when it was gas powered? Should it now be called a "search motor"?

rkm,

Putting a crown vic motor in a truck is like trying to put a crown vic wheel on your truck. It will not fit. So don't worry about that.
