Reman "engine" is done & home.

Got the truck back. Surprise!!!!!!!! It doesn't run any different than it did when I took it in. It looks new, it smells new when it's warmed up. Runs exactly the same. The dealer is something else though.

I noticed no brake problems when I took it in, now my right rear is grinding just driving. The fronts chatter. They charged me $100.00 to "repair" a pcv hose leak that I did not authorize. I don't see any repair, it sure isn't a new hose. I have no written warranty that I was told was 3/36.

I have a question for capt jj, Danny owens, or anyone else that knows. Two weeks ago, I put Bosch +4's in the truck. When they change the unit, do they use the old plugs, does the long block come with plugs already installed, or do they put in new just as a matter of practice.

They filled it with 5w20 synthetic blend MC oil. No one said anything at all at the dealership, except having their hands out for their $153.35, does this have a break in period? As usual, thanks in advance for the good info and advice.

It depends on how the plugs in the old engine looks, if the plugs are clean they go in the new engine, if fouled I sale new plugs. Reman longblocks don't come with new plugs. As far as break in goes, we never recommend it, some peoples opinions differ here. Having built a few engines from 2 strokes to V8's I don't "baby" them for any lengthy periods of time. Glad to know your truck didn't sit at the dealer too long. That is the hardest part of my job, telling customers that it will take forever for parts to come in when their vehicle is torn down in my shop. Ford parts can be a pain, but our Isuzu parts are hell. Last Isuzu engine I sold was 3 weeks ago, just received it on Friday, cust has been in a rental car at their own expense since day 1 of engine failure (still under warranty too).
