Oil Pressure Light

I replaced my oil (Castrol synthetic blend) and everything was fine when I started it up. The oil light was on then after the engine warmed up it went away. As I went to take a small drive that night I noticed my oil pressure light was flickering at low speeds and then it just stayed on. I thought I was low on oil so I didn't want to drive around low on oil so I added another quart to make it around 6 quarts in the engine. It was dark so i couldn't check my oil dipstick then. My light kept flickering. My dipstick shows i'm about a inch over full now. Now the problem is the light will stay on at idle but if I rev it up to 3,000 or more the light goes away but when the rpms drop the light goes back on under 3K. I have a few questions..

1. Could overfilling cause the oil light to do what is it doing?

2. Oil Sending Switch bad? I bought a new one just waitin on better weather to replace it.

3. How many quarts does a 2.9L take?

Bad oil pump or clogged oil pickup screen... Also could be a bad oil filter...

Also to mention on warmer weather the light doesn't seem to show up at much as it does when its below 30 here. I put a Fram SureGrip so since i'm overfilled should I replace my filter for the hell of it with a higher quality one?
