Question Banks Power pack.

Anybody have any experience or knowledge of this kit for the 5.4 in a Supercrew? It looks like a cool kit and is all inclusive. They claim up to 26 hp increase with similar torque increase. Wonder if you lose low end grunt? They supposedly do great things for Diesel motors like the Powerstroke.

I have a Banks PowerPack in a slightly different vehicle, so '...your mileage may vary..." My vehicle is a 1997 SC F250 / 460 / E4OD...

Pros:
It definately adds some oomph. Not nitrous style instant neck snapping but the motor definately feels better throughout, as it should have always felt.
Has a nice exhaust burble, and completely 'streetable' results overall.
Everything fits well, looks good, and have had no defects in the product.
Cons:
Finish isn't what is advertised. A small thing but they do show the headers as polished, and the 'Banks Ram Air' as painted in the ads. They arrive unpolished (though a tag with a disclaimer is included) and unpainted.
Mine arrived without instructions, but a call to tech support got a copy emailed to me quite quickly.

I had the headers installed as I could foresee some real hassles. Turned out to be true - not Banks' fault, just the facts of life on exhaust work for a 6 year old truck.

I have purchased a SuperChip and may install it today infact. It's very important that the headers be incorporated into the custom program for the chip, says MikeT btw.

Overall:
Would I do it again? I would probably purchse the Stinger, and then make the decision as there is no cost break for purchasing the entire package at once. Depends on how much one _needs_ the headers as they really add to the cost and complexity.

Thanks Galaxie.

That's the kind of stuff I was looking for. Real world. I was considering the whole package but it just doesn't seem worth the money. I'll just hold what I've got and hope it is reliable.
