code po156,will not go away.

I got the ses light about a week ago, I read the codes and it came up as code po156. So I changed bank 2 sensor 2,the one after the cat,so I reset the computer and took it for a drive. Thinking my problem was cured, but hell no after about 20 mins of driving it came back on,checked codes again and wouldn't you know it same damn code.
I have reset the computer by disconnecting the battery cable and I have also tried erasing the code with the scan tool and the code still comes up.
Went for a drive with my wife and kids tonite and it only took about 5 mins for the damn ses light to come back on with the same damn code.
I need some help with this issue because that damn light is driving me insane.
Thanks in advance.

This is a circuit malfunction, so the cat is still good. You don't have to worry about replacing that.

It looks as though there is a problem with the wiring harness. Could be that water has collected someplace, either at a connection or in the wiring itself. You may have to track the wiring all the way back to the PCM. If there is patina on a connection, I've found that Brakeleen works well at removing it.

Just to make sure, Bank 2 is the driver's side of the engine. Is that the one you replaced?

Here is a link to a thread where a member had a P0136, which is the same as the P0156 in problem diagnoses.

His was a replace the O2 sensor, but there are other things on the list.

Good luck
