4.6 engine type??

p.s. if i were buying a used 4.6L windsor or romeo, i would consider the type of engine as low priority compared to maintenance on the truck. Accurate maintenace and repair reciepts and documentation are or shoudl be the buyer's goal. (versus romeo and windsor worries. both are great engines)

03f150man is correct - in the grand scheme of things, very few 4.6 engines or 5.4 engines ended up with the slap.
Try typing in piston slap in the search engine, and get more reading material than you ever thought possible.
Off the top of my head, the slap was a problem in primarily '97 to early '99 motors, mainly the 5.4, but it affected all engines coming from the Windsor Engine plant - including the 4.6 and 6.8 V10 motors.
I agree, I would be less worried about what engine plant the 4.6 came from then I would about a lot of other things. Both are excellent motors.
