Need a 5.0 For 88 F150
Hi Guys!
Sold my 1998 F150 and have to use my backup truck until I decide to buy another late model. Its an 88 F150 with 175Kmiles on her, and the motor blew. Anyone know where I can get a rebuilt/reman resonable? I have quotes for $1300 plus core charges for a longblock. Dont really want to try the used/junkyard route.
Thanks
Jon

Try this site:
www.atk-engines.com/linkpage.html
It has several rebuilder links and you can shop them around.

Boy, I wish you were closer to St. Louis.
My son rebuilt a 5.0 for a ranger conversion project that went bust. The engine is still sitting in the corner of my garage on an engine stand. Has never been started since he finished it.
Of course, he'll probably never move it, so I'll get it out of there someday....

Central Coast Mustangs in California build my truck motor. They have a great deal on a long block with GT-40P heads which work great on trucks. They use only new ford blocks, not .030 over bored used, that way you can still rebuild it one more time down the road if you have it long enough. Shipped to your door in a crate. Check them out.
