Oil filter locations (pix, please) OEM or not

Hey, I know this has been covered a million times, and I've been over it all, well not all, but a lot of it...

I'm getting ready to add my remote kit and fumoto drain. I've got the drawings for my bracket sitting right here just waiting for an opening in the shop to get it made.

In the mean time I was kinda curious about the stock location on the '97 remote filters. Does anyone have a picture of one? Also, I'm just curious to see where others have mounted theirs. Maybe kinda get all the pix in one spot. I think I found three or four sets throughout different posts.

Just for the record I plan on mounting mine in front of the steering box about halfway down the side of the frame, using a two piece stainless bracket I designed. For now I'm just going to use the hose that came with the kit, and some slightly fancier clamps. Although, some oil change not too far down the line I want to change to AN fittings...

so, if you've got pix, and would like to post them... please do...

Here's mine:

If you need different angles let me know I'd be more than willing to take more pics if you need

Hey, thanks. That's the OEM one then, huh? It's kinda hard to tell from those pix, but is it mounted horizontally or slightly angled?

I plan on mounting mine on the other side of the frame. The top bolt of my mount will go through the eliptical hole in the upper right of the first picture.

No it's vertical, just looks angled because of how I took the pic

I think it's OEM, but it came with the truck when I bought it used in any case And looking at where the thing should be, Im glad its got the remote location on it.

Well, I finally got around to installing mine. I'm not real crazy about the location. It's just about an inch or two about the bottom of the front lower valance. I also, have a very slight leak (hope to get that fixed over the weekend), so I would like to maybe switch over to AN fittings before too long, which hopefully would allow me to move it up some, or I might just try to find another place to mount it. I also still plan on adding a cool collar mostly for protection from road debris...

Here's the stainless bracket I made to mount the filter:

This is my block adapter:

Isn't it rather obvious why I wanted to move it? I hated changing the oil then cleaning up the dribble for a day or two...

And here it is, along with one of my big complaints against Ford. I don't think a little paint would've killed them.

This is my new Fumoto drain valve. Too bad I gotta wait till the next oil change to realize it's value.
