4.6 engines

I have a 2003 Screw 4X4 with a 4.6 Windsor engine. What is the difference between the 4.6 Windsor and the 4.6 Romeo??

I have a friend that works at Windsor engine. I was told that Windsor built some 4.6s for the Romeo plant. That could explain why some Windsor engines have the 6 bolt flange.

The windsor has better interchangability with the biger Tritons. 8 bolt flange on crankshaft, same as 5.4 and 6.8. Uses individual cam bearing caps. Full floating piston pins. But that is only usefull if you plan on swapping parts with a 5.4. If you wanted to use lower compression pistions because of a supercharger you conld not use Lightning pistons if you had a Romeo engine. You could if you had a Windsor.
