oil filter locations
hello, I had a 97 fi50 xlt, 4.6v8, 4x4 super cab and the oil filter was up under the front bumper on the drivers side...nice and easy to get to. I really loved the f150 so I bought a new one in 2002...got the super cab 8 foot bed, with the FX4 package in the F150 .....the Oil filter on this truck is on the block like most vehicles....I really liked the 97's location......was there a reason the 97 had it up under the bumper and the 2002 doesnt?........anyone?......thanks...bob
ps..the seat on the 97 was way softer than the 2002....otherwise I love this 2002 just as much.....bob

I think that only the 97s had the oil filter up there behind the fog light. That's where mine is as well, but I think it was changed just because of the reason the if you hit something, it will damage the oil lines or the filter, and that could lead to bigger problems. I like it there, though.

It was easy to fix. Werid location

LMAO!!! Damn, glad everyone is okay. I know you hate Chebbies, but take you aggression out in a constructive way.
