i would check with mike in the computer section but i seriously doubt that the ported t/b and elbow would or will require any computer tuning.
if it is any indication, the 4.6 mustang guys have about 3 or 4 people casting aftermarket elbows that flow much better than stock. the addition of the aftermarket elbow and a larger throttle body on a mustang makes around 10 rwhp. i would guesstimate that a well ported stock elbow and t/b might give 5 rwhp. would be great if the mustang one fit the 4.6 truck but the mustang throttle body is angled 90 degrees from a 4.6 truck so it will not work.
makes you wonder why someone dosent cast an after market elbow for us truck people.

 

no it dont require any tuning all it is doing is letting the air flow smother and better, i hope to get a few hp for all the work i am doing to it, that would be cool if they did make one for us

I don't think the polished tb is neck snapping difference, but it could be that extra little umff to snipe than Chevy!

I find that working on my truck and doing something with my hands really gives me something to be proud of especially when somebody else comments on it. When you do something like polish your throttle body it's not something people are going to see, it's just part of the love of your truck. Kinda like a green thumb only it's a black thumb.

 

I am thinking about replacing my stock throttle body with an Edelbrock throttle body. Will I noticed a difference or am I better off just cleaning my throttle body?

I don't see an advantage in this. Its a large hole unless it was really cloged up, How does it help air flow. Looks like plenty could get in there...

 

BSA, by porting and polishing, you clean up all the ruff edges and sufaces so it matches up better, witch emproves air flow, all the combustion engine really is is a big air pump, the better it sucks in air and expels exaust the more efecient it is witch will help HP and MPG, porting and polishing the throttle body and elbow wont give a huge diffrence but every little bit helps

Just curious, does anyone manufacture an aftermarket TB elbow for a 75mm TB yet?

 

The stock TB has a lip in front of the butterfly. Using the coarse grit wheel removes this lip and increases the amount of air that can flow into the engine. Granted it is not a lot but add gasket matching and a few other things and it will start to show. I gasket matched my intake manifold and the heads. In certain areas I removed as much as 1/8th of an inch of metal. Can you say, improvement?
