Any Heating & Cooling Guys in the house?

What's the best natural gas furnace out there?
Is it worth the money?
What would you recommend based on value for price?

Furnace here is 18 years old, it runs fine (just had it tested) but it's not very efficient, so I'm trying to figure out how long it would take me to recoup the cost of replacing it.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks you!

hmm if i lived closer id sell and put one in for under a thousand, id go with a 90 plus percent gas furnace, very efficiant, youll make the savings in like two winters names dont really mean to much but get a reputable brand and if you have central air, it is best to match it with that unit, doesnt do anything but when you sell lets the new buyer see both are new and same brand, they have furnaces now with variable speed main blowers, and varible speed draft inducer motors, all very electricaly efficiant, ,,, i replaced my a/c last year, elec bill was over 150 a month in the summer, now just at 110 so a savings of 40 a month and that is with a 13 yr old furnace, darn thing just wont give out i want to put a new one in but I just seem to fix it all the time

Hey Habibi... looks like you're getting sloppy in your old age. I'll request that Steve move this one down to General Disc.

HAHAHA!

habibi,

I've heard so many things. It's hard to just tell you what is right. I have a very old oil burner. It's been updated with a "flame retention head". It's like 30 years old and never any problems. All the "new" burners are much more efficient.....But???

I did a google search.... read and do what's best for you:

good Luck,
