Truck just clicks ??
Got to the eye doctor yesterday and shut off truck. Came out of doctors and turn key , NOTHING but a clicking noise???
Battery is good, all lights working , radio, windows, ect ect.. all working ??
Tryed to jump it just in case, nothong??
Checked all fuses, still nothing??
Tryed to start in park and nutral nothing??
Thinking starter?? But all seems well there and it has never given me a single problem??
1998 Ford F150 4X4 Triton V8, 88,000 miles
Any ideas?? I might pull starter today and take to have bench tested.
Thanks

I've had that "click" hit me before. Lights, horn, radio all worked, too. Turned out the battery cables needed cleaning even though they didn't look "too bad". I would recommend you give yours a good cleaning. Also, since that time, I don't put grease on the terminals; I paint the terminals after cleaning.
Since you tried jumping it, did you connect both cables to the battery or did you put the ground on the frame? It could just be the battery is bad; how old is the battery? You might have the battery checked for it's ability to accept a charge.

You shoud try shorting the terminals on the starter motor solenoid switch on the firewall. If it starts it is not the starter. Check the cables going to the starter for corrosion. These are known to wick corrosion up the cable past the plastic covering. Before you replace the starter have it tested. Auto parts stores here do it for free.

Well it ended up being the starter and I am all set now!!
The garage wanted $380 !!!!!! I said AAA will be right there to tow it out of there!!
It was in my yard 2 hours later and I went to Auto Zone and bought a Brand New one with Life warr for $175 and installed my self.
I don't mind paying a little more for the garage but $200 more!!
Any way Thanks guys!! for all your help!!
