The 5.4 is faster and works less to move my truck. I got better milage on the highway with the 5.4 than I did with the 4.6. When I take off from a light I need less pedal than I did with the 4.6. When I merge I don’t have to worry who is next to me. I can just press down on the accelerator and merge. So Faster150 I have just proven what everyone else here suspected, you are full of shìt. You can stop now.

and remember guys arrogance only gets worse as u get older:-p and since you are all few years older then mean i guess that mean arrogance has blinded u and all guys think what they have is faster so its really a pointless argument i could post specs from ford like i have done times before or post car reviews comparing 1/4 mile times from the 4.6 and 5.4 and yall would still plead ultimate denial and find some reason to deny the 4.6 is fast... when u should just go down to a used car lot and find out for urselves im tired of arguing so im just gonna laugh:-p

I just recently got my f150 and I test drove similarly equiped trucks with a 4.6 and this truck has much more get up and go with the 5.4

the 4.6 would struggle to get up to speed but my 5.4 does it with ease.

It takes power to be faster... the 5.4 has more of that throughout the rpm range.

aye, I love my 4.6 don't get me wrong, I would have gotten a 5.4 but they don't put a d@*n straight gear behind it.

Before I came to the light a few years ago, I had a Chevy and (of course) it was in the shop. They gave me a Ford F-150 to drive for a rental. It had a 4.6 in it and I couldn't wait to get my piece of crap Chevy Blazer back with the 4.3 v6. I swore that I would never get a Ford truck until they did something about their power. Finally, I had taken the Blazer to the garage one too many times and decided to trade it in. I looked at the Ford last because I wasn't pleased with the one I had driven a couple years before, but to my surprise...This truck was BAD. I loved it-It had a 5.4 same truck I have now. I think the v6 in the F-150 is quicker than the 4.6 because it's lighter and has quite a bit of torque, but I don't think that the 4.6 is a good choice for these big heavy monsters. To each his own and if your happy with your 4.6 great. I think also if you really want to wake up that 4.6-go see Mike Troyer...than man works miracles.

I believe the 4.6 might be faster after all. I went out and put the 01 Grand Marquis in neutral and my 01 F-150 in neutral and threw a brick on both pedals. I did this because torque and horsepower mean nothing and I just wanted to see which motor was faster. What I found was the 4.6 did rev faster then my 5.4 all the way up to the point when they simultanously tossed connecting rods at each other and locked up in a oily cloud of destruction. Faster you were right, the 4.6 is faster and I didnt need a dyno to prove it.

Aye, my 5.4L don't run on dilithium crystals, but she'll get me to warp speed in no time. Here's to ya, lad.
