He swears up and down, that theres more to it, but I dont think there is...could you please shed some light ..

Again, wanting to change the fuel filter on a 2000 Ford F-150. I think its a triton or some crap.

ummm, first of all, i meant no disrespect by saying triton crap...i just meant, i didnt know what it was, sorta like " triton something or another "....

Second, i dont have a truck, i have a car....and who cares...your comparing a truck to a car...also....i like his truck, it stands well and drives good, but im not a truck guy...

also, i was just looking for some help is all....is there a point to being hard off the bat like that ???

also, if its cheaper ....that doesnt mean crap....being expensive doesnt mean crap either....prices are prices...big deal....

thanx for being so helpful, i appreciate ur level of maturity...and ability to take things the wrong way...

What a coincidence, I just changed the filter on my '99 4.6L a couple of weeks ago.
It's easy, all you need is the quick connector release tool to disconnect @ the ends of the filter, I got mine at Autozone, it kind of looks like a pair of scissors, it's got 2 different sizes, one on each end of the tool. My filter took the smaller size.

Anyway, the filter is inside the driver side frame rail, about where the door is. Remove the external metal clips (they just move out of the way) and then use the release tool inside the connectors at the filter and they will slide right off the filter ends. Remove the filter, it's just held in by a clip, it's not bolted in, slide the old one out and reverse procedure for the install, the connectors, when slid on to the new filter will click when fully seated. Re install the external metal retainers, and fire it up.

Oh yea, and dont forget a rag to catch the fuel that is going to flow from the filter when you disconnect it. I got splashed when I did mine!

well sorry for the hard one right away.. its a bad night.. and we have had many people that just sign up to talk alot of crap. so i appoligize for the entry well start over and say hey welcome to the sight. he covered how to do the filter pretty much. wen i do it i take out the fuse for the fuel pump then turn ur trouck over til it dies. then alot less fluid spills out when the filter comes off. again sorry for the rude start.

I found that if you have to releave the fuel pressure with the schrader valve on the fuel rail first. Never tried pulling the pump fuse.
