Turbonator

I just read the Turbonator ad on this site. Anyone used this device and what are the results? With the escalating price of gas and my profession requires my truck and hauling a trailer to job sites, I'm looking for anything that will provide gas savings. I'm driving a 2001 F150 Supercab and it is working exceptionally well. Any advice or comments on the Turbonator are welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

Do A search, you will find it is a waste of money.

It isn't worth the cost of the box it comes in.
I think you might feel that if a product is advertised on a site it must have some reasonable validity.
It's a matter of getting site support.
Even Summit and Jeg's are selling these sort of questionable products.
I was really taken aback when these companies first started to do this.
But is all a matter of money as it is with any product.
Another pet peeve with me is the high cost of aftermarket air intakes that give very little gain for the outlay.
The end responsibility buying anything lies with the buyer whether it works or not.
I could give tech reasons why this product won't do anything in a modern fuel injection design but most don't care to hear it.

Deffinately a rip-off. Performance costs a lot of money period. Horsepower is a poor man's wish, and a rich man's sport. You get what you pay for, just sometimes you pay more for it.

A lot of companies will start offering a product because of customer inquires. It's more interesting to see how long they continue to sell it after negative feedback like this.

Even that "Two Guys Garage" show that I USED to watch pushed the "Tornado" product.... After I saw that, I stopped watching.... Hummm.... I've seen the ads for what you are talking about here too..... Maybe I should...... Naw...... Hey, if they give you advertising bucks, who cares if it works or not!! ha, ha!!

Only way to know for sure is to pony up the bucks and try it out.... You can read all the pros and cons of it all day long, but if you don't see it with your own eyes, how will you ever know?? Well, unless you understand the basic dynamics/physics of a modern fuel injected engine, then logic "should" give you the answer too....

Good luck!

Please read the article entitled LOOKING FOR A MIRACLE in Popular Mechanics at http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...y/1802932.html. The article gives test results on several "Fuel Saving" devices that PM installed on an F350.

Did anyone ever see a magazine or retailer ever critisize any of it's advertisers/suppliers products? NO.
As far as they go is comparison testing and dropping a product if there are to many complaints.

Bluegrass, I'm always interested in hearing your take on things. Would you mind sharing your opinion on tuners? i.e. Hypertech, Superchips, Diablosport, etc.......

Thanks,

Joey

Bluegrass, apparently you didn't read the PM article before you replied.

At the bottom of each page of the article is a link to the Turbonator.

Hooray for hipocracy...All these product manufacturers should be sued for false advertising. Just like those idiots selling weighted shift ***** that give a 15%horsepower increase on e-bay...

Every month in Car and Driver.

Almost every month in any of the Petersons off-roading mags (4-wheeler, 4-wheel and off-road, etc)

Think about it from their stand-point though: The advertising department doesn't care if it's a good product or not, so long as it generates revenue.

Think about it from the retailer's standpoint: My customers are asking about it. Should I tell them, "No, I can't get it" or should I make a sale and let them find out for him/herself it's useless?

I would hope that any retailer that I deal with would be honest enough to tell me that they don't sell them because they are a POS.
