Throttle plate position

Hi guys. I have a 2005 f150 and I installed an AF1 air intake the other day on it. During the install, after I removed the stock system and before I put the new system on, I was looking at my throttle body and I noticed that the butterfly plate in it was not completely closed or flat but rather was sitting at an angle and was open a little bit. My question is, is the butterfly plate supposed to be completely closed when the truck is off or could mine be bad? The dealership has already replaced the throttle position sensor in it because the truck wouldn't start one day and I had to have it towed to the dealership and they said that the TPS was shot and replaced it. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks

If your truck is running OK and not getting any codes, I'd have to say it's OK..

If the Ford throttles are anything like BMW's it should be slightly open when off. They are sprung slightly open in case of electronic failure to allow air to pass through for idle. Of course, I might be wrong and they might be completly different. But they are most likely the same since it makes the most sense.
