Power Steering Pump Questions...

Hello All.. Been away from F150 forums for about 5 years.. but i am back and I need some help.

I have a 1999 Ford Expedition 4.6 and I had to replace the Power Steering pump.. becuase I thought it was bad.. Went to Autozone, got a new pump... everything looked good until.. I got done swapping all the parts over...

and I went to swap over some sort of sensor.. and the New power steering pump didn;t have the housing installed. So I took it back.. and went to Pep Boys.. where they had a pump with what looked like the hook up for the sensor stuff to be installed.

But when I took it apart.. it just looked like a metering pin in there.. and i had no place to install the sensor.

So does anyone have any idea what this sensor is and what it does? To me it looks like they deleted the sensor.

Please help!

It's a pressure sensor for the power steering, and it sounds like they gave you the wrong pump. The new pump should have this sensor.
