Ok, I don't know if this works for the f-150 cuz i'm not willing to take mine there, but I did it in the cavalier tonight and took it up to 115! So, it does work with the chevy. It turns off the radio for some reason and after probably 10 seconds, the theft light came on. It went back out after I shut the car off to go into a store though.

Ya'll are crazy, but so am I . I was doing about 110 the other day (the limiter on the Edge chip without custom tuning), and it was cruising fine with a couch, a bbq, a big shelter/tent, and a cooler. I never tried the key method, nor do I want to. However, I did get up to about 106 with the stock limiter going downhill, and the truck felt reaaaallly uneasy...
And as for the maroon interior, it's against my religion, along with the blue interior.

But you don't have the bench seat? What's the point of porno red if there's no place to ****? Unless you carry a mattress in the back.
Really? I'm not sure I'd want to go that fast in that truck, even at 75 it was feeling a little skittish, espically around tighter turns. So much I felt the need to slow down, I'll do it in the Jeep and feel fine. Like I said, you really can't do that around here. There's a state fuzzball behind every tree and in every u-turn thing between the north and southbound roads. 3K in overdrive, and you were doing 97? Must have high gearing.
But maybe next time I'm down in PA I will try the turnpike, I always like to know how fast something can go. Dune buggy with the '71 Beetle(1600cc, flat 4) and the 4speed transaxle(no o/d) would max out at about 85, in 4th gear and the motor pushing 4k( I didn't want to push the 35 year old motor any higher, and it falls on its face any faster anyway). My 380cc sled will do 65 and get there in about 4 seconds, about a second less on pavement(haha, my sled spanks all of your modded trucks, with 35hp and half that in torque, sporting twin carbs ), and my 720 Sea-Doo GTi will do about 51@6800 RPM, pushing out about 85HP. For watercraft, torque is useless, it's all about HP.

Sorry, the '84 Lariat is a bronco, so got a bench... heh heh heh
Anyway, 75??? Dang thats what I do to get to school in the mornin. Might wanna get your trucks front end checked out.
Also, the 97 has a M5OD which doesnt have a deep of OD like the autos, and also has 3.73s so we can lug loads better.

I was thinking about giving the front end a once-over, since there is a bit of play in the steering wheel. You have to turn it a very small(but noticable) amount with no resistance until you feel it "hit" and you actually start to steer. I swear I didn't notice it a couple days ago when I last drove it, but after driving the Acura TL for a while anything seems like a tank. It's not so much play that I'm worried about the steering box going out or anything, but it is an old work truck, not a sports car so I'm not expecting super-tight handling like the TL.
Is a slight "whine" from the power steering when turning sharply at low speeds any big deal(like manuvering out of a parking space)? It's that "power steering sound", you know. At higher speeds it doesn't make any noise.

97-98 f150's limiters are not the same setup as the 99+
im pretty sure all 97-98's are set at 105... im saying as when the
little thing in the tranny hits 105 or 100 you cut off power...
its not more then 105 im sure... i think lol
with my truspeed tuned in i hit my limmiter at 91mpg real speed
with 35" and 4.56 gears
