Put on some nice heads, long tube headers, and e fans! With the mods I have, an ss isnt a problem.

Shorties are not worth the money. Magnaflow high flows are worth the money. You wont gain hardly anything though, just sounds good.

i dont know about california, I have no idea how they are, but go to www.rpmoutlet.com. look under lightning parts. The dynatech long tubes are the only way to go. And for 300.... NO more like $900 for just the headers.

Hey guys before I got my truck I was looking into getting a SS, but fortunatly I pulled my head out of my **** and went with the F150. I did do alot of research on the SS before deciding. I went with the ford because its a crew cab and the looks kick ***.

The SS is really fast from what I have seen and read. They say that it comes with a really bad tune and with a programer they get like 45 extra ponies, now add an exhaust and intake and there even faster. Stock they make 345hp I think torque is 390?.

With the AWD these guys talk about being able to beat everything off the line. An important note about the AWD slowing down the top speed would be that the 05 and 06 (I think 05) some are cheaper models and come without the AWD.

Hopefully you win the race. But don't feel bad its chevy's top of the line race truck and that were even talking about beating them says something. Its not like were talking about you racing a lightning (and maybe winning) with only some mods.

compared to a lightning they're not that fast. Compared to your F-150, they will smoke you. If you race any of them, take some video, so that everybody who's saying they're not that fast will be proved wrong. I don't think with simple bolt-ons on the 2002 5.4 you can keep up with them....just my opinion, but take some video and see who's right. I don't mind sticking my foot in my mouth once in awhile especially if I'm taking up for a crappy Chevy...

haha i raced a chevy SS about a week ago with my 02 Lightning, I guess you could say i raced him, was more like i watched him disapeer in the rear view, but yea all those trucks are is a silverado with a dress up package for looks. The only chevy trucks worth a damn if you ask me are the oldschool C-10's

A supercharger still applies as a bolt on.

the SS's are the slowest of the fast pickups, i would so recomend a harley over it since it is almost a second faster in 0-60 and the harley's just look better and ride better and have a better interior and its a supercrew, chevy really screwed up with the SS but it does look better than any other pickup they make
