Fuel Line went this morning

Hi, was driving about 55 mph, truck started to bogg down - eventually to an idle before I pulled off the road.
While lifting the hood I gota good wiffer of gas. - truck was still idling , I looked under it real quick before shutting down - there was a pretty healthy stream of gas coming from the top of the bell housing. Soaked the motor - it's cleaner..This sucks!

The main feeder came apart . The spring lock connector at the rail somehow unlocked taking that "awesome" safety clamp with it. Figures, didn't have any tools with me this morning. I slid the conector back on the rail and the spring wouldn't engage all that well - forfeighted one of my bootlaces to keep from doing it again before I got back here... But yeah , that's safe.

Has anyone else been this fortunate or am I just haveing a bad week , can you buy new connectors like that? I can't locate them .

Thanx.

I've only seen that happen 1 time, ever. So it does, but it's gotta be pretty rare.

You have two options, replace it, or patch it.

I cut the tubes and used a piece of pressure rated (250 psi) fuel hose and some hose clamps. Worked fine.

Yeah , worked on it this afternoon - The fuel rail - fuel line Spring connector was the problem - just the springs were rusty - rusty enough. Cleaned up the rail, lightly wire wheeled the springs and treated with CAT - dry lube. I found some O rings and replaced all 4 with the wrong one's lol- there close and better than what was left of the old. There's a write up on the O rings (not a TSB) - Stating there's been an O-ring upgrade and that 's about it lol - but it did give the part numbers and that's the only thing I was able to accomplish with new parts that are needed. The supply side O-rings- blue(inside) and black(outside) It says four - they must include the return line rings as well.

Waiting for parts and looking just the same - Trucks running good - I also heard both spring clamps snap on the fuel rail after I cleaned an lubed them up a bit - should hold for while anyway.. but needs new ones, I find them eventually.

I thought about cutting , Ford should have a kit for this - they don't as far as i can tell
