In '05, I pulled 6800 lbs. on a 5000 mile one way trip with a 4.6 w/3.55's although gas mileage really sucked, the engine was not the problem at all... it was the tranny that needed the beefing up. I would'nt even mess with anything else, till you beef up the transmission.
