How did you find out your solenoid went bad? Was that one of the code's that told you?

There's not a part on my truck that hasn't been replaced at least once, except MOST of the frame, and the transfer case (which has been removed several times). I have no way of knowing how many miles are on it since I've changed the odometer at least twice, but the current engine has at least 350K with no rebuild. I'm guessing the t-case has over 400K.

Mine's a 2000 4x4 off road reg cab flareside with a 5.4 auto and 3.55 rear l/s. Here's a list off hand of replacements:
-Tie rods, tie rods, oh yes, did I mention tie rods? I've replaced the driver side 2 and one on the passenger side is going, so both will be replaced. Get greaseable ones.
-Ball joints, the lower ones on both sides.
-Radiator 2 times.
-Thermostat once.
-IAC, got tired of constantly cleaning and thaught it was whistling.
-Belt, just because it was skanky lookin.
-Battery, was loosing go go juice.
-Fan, replaced for e-fans.
-Plugs, routine stuff considering mileage.
-Front pump seal (warranty) on tranny.
-Pinion seal (warranty) on rearend
-E brakes were cracked so it failed safety, I've since replaced all hardware too.
-Blendor motor went kaput.
-Wiper/turn signal arm (was getting those ghost wipes)
-Odometer fix.
That's about all I can think of, hope it points you in areas to keep an eye on. Alot of this stuff was just peace of mind for me, but in over seven years and 180 000 plus km's, that's cheap sh-t and not alot really, just preventative. The tie rods were a surprise, literally

Plug wires
Side view mirror motor (driver's side)

I just bought this truck with ~30,000. The thing runs and drives like new.
HOWEVER, the odd thing was the dealer had replaced the lower ball joints. The truck came off lease from the original owner. I have read and heard from several mechanics that having a vehicle "sit" for long periods will detroy ball joints... not sure how I fee about all that.
Other than that, the dealer showed me all the service records from the truck... just your basic stuff... brakes, oil, RV Mirror switch...

My 97 F150 4.6 auto 4x4 just turned 198,000 miles saturday and here's my list of what I have replaced. With everything that has been done including oil changes I have only spent $700 in maintenance costs.
1. Multifunciton switch
2. Left front hub
3. Original starter at 187,000
4. Battery
5. Positive batter cable (due to corosion)
6. Sway bar links
7. Spark plugs and wires
An old high school friend has spent well over $3000 on his 90 full size jimmy. He has had the rearend overhauled twice. He gives me crap saying that my truck sucks. My truck has never left me stranded and hope it never will.

I have a 97 F-150 4X4 4.6L and i have had it for a little over a year now and i had to replace the front brake line at 100,500, Sway Bar end links 101,000, starter at 103,000, spark plugs/wires at 105,000, cat-back exhaust at 112,000, and now at the top of the list is a exhaust manifold leak. But over all not back all minor fixes
