Talking Nice little story.

A few months back I noticed an occasional knock from the front of my truck. Wasn't a engine knock. Just one that cought my attn. I thought it was the fan just clipping the guard occasionally. Well that went on for a little bit. This was after a friend of mine's husband thought we were messing around. Well, I came back from leave seeing my wife and meeting my newborn son. I was just out of sound and I heard that knock and some wierd noise, for lack of better words. I pulled over as soon as I heard it. Battery light came on and all of that stuff that happens when your belt breaks. So I just thought my belt broke. Opened up the hood and saw that the belt was fine. Looked on the ground and there was my crankshaft pulley. Noticed that there was 2 bolts missing off of the crank and the other 2 were sheered. I do know that the bolts are put in with lock tight. So I know that there is no way the came out on their own. As I said earlier, this started just after that guy thought I was sleeping with his wife. And he knows I drive 9 hours to see my wife about once a month. If yall could, could yall please help with my questions.

Now my questions are, and I have tried using the search, is

1) What is the part number for the crankshaft pulley for a 98 4.2? I've searched the search engines and nothing came back. Tried many different ways.

2) What size of bolt do I need for the crank pulley bolts

Ya, crank pulley bolts don't just "pop out" on their own short of them just not being tightened.

Though that's an interesting thing to mess with just to **** somebody (you) off. It's hard to get at, requires sockets, and other crap. Wouldn't it have been easier to just cut the belt?

Yeah, but cutting the belt wouldn't have left him stranded on the side of the road. If it was in-fact intentional, it was a good idea (in an evil kind of way)...

BTW, were you messing around with his wife?? If I was the kind of guy to get back at someone for messing around with my wife, I don't think that causing a car disablement would satisfy me. Again, IF (which I'm not) I were that kind of person, I think there'd be some blood involved.
