It has 18,000 Km and I want some Hp out of it. Tell me how the old Chev was almost stock and would kick this Fords ***. Help me out!

put a load in the back and you will see the difference between ford and chev engine design.

If you want a fast truck you should have stuck with chevy and dodge. Their motors love the rpms. My moms 2003 tahoe with the 5.3 keeps me planted in the seat at 4000-5500 rpm, but hook a heavy trailer up. A 5.4 will sure wake up with a couple bolt ons though, plus these trucks are heavier, and built tougher.

My brothers 94 reg cab v-6 chevy can outrun my 06 F-150 in a race. Let him try to haul or tow what my ford can and see what happens. Maybe your money would have been better spent on a sports car seeing as what speed is what your after

Where is the power 2

Thank you who had something good to reply and for the others you're showing your intelligence. I owned a ford before my chev and it was a good truck. What I was looking for was some suggestions on what I could do to increase the performance of this truck. If you have some education with the F150 5.4 and how to tune it with parts or suggestions, I would like to hear from you.

Tune, CAI, exhaust are the basics. Probably good for 40hp at the crank. A tuner is the biggest for power. Headers will add another 10hp, but are a huge pain to put on the 5.4. E-fans reduce drag on the crank and will increase power as well. Gears will put all that power to the road for better acceleration and towing. If you want monster power there are superchargers and nitrous.

It sounded like you were comparing your chev to your ford and asking why the ford is slower. Thats how I interpreted it. It didn't sound like you were asking for advice on getting more power out of your ford.

man i dont know why everyones so stuck on CAI and exhaust giving a noticeable power adds. granted everything you do will affect it. maybe its for the same reason im stuck on ported heads and smoother intake runners along with gears?

the reason i told you to stuff something behind it was so you can see that its a torque monster. chevs seem to be more top end power and the 5.4 seems to be more bottom end grunt. if you want some real power, look at the boys running the lightnings.

Intelligence ? - well for one , theres know way in hell that chevy can out perform a Ford truck - infact , no one can stand up to to these trucks - Toyota really thought they had something there

You don't know what you got

Chevy doesn't have a half ton that can pull anything .

Looks like you purchased the wrong Ford - itelligence? Huh, Well , there called Lightnings anyway... Maybe you should sell yours and get on of those ..

BTW my 98 would freakin smoke that chevy anyway - if I was to race her

That crank still holdin U up ? Did korbella come thru this time ?

That's a pretty important part - one that would hold up the hole freakin process

Mann , there should be somewhere - someplace where you could get a hold of a good crank .

You have to be gettin that itch to work on her I imagine..

Awesome Project
