No the OD is not on. It's strange it cruises great but when I really try and get on it to go over 70 it really has to work to get there. Here's what I'm going to to 1) clean the tsb, 2) take a look at getting those ****** humper glass packs off(sounds cool) but I'm thinking their chocking the engine. 3) see about replacing those cats. I would like to let it breath a little more but I'm not sure what size pipe I can go with withoug hurting the engine? any thoughts?

With my OD off, I'd be around the 3000 rpm mark @ 70-75mph. ( I haven't tried it ) When I tow my camper I'm running about 2500 rpm @ 60 mph.

I agree ditch the glasspacks and go with a nice 2 1/2" duel setup or I like a single 3" setup much better. ( my next investment on my Expy )

That's odd that I can spin both tires on gravel or loose terrain? Perhaps since I am not the original owner that someone changed the rear end gears?

If not, this owner will....

You know what , when you ask "Do you have the OD on or off?" are you taking about having the Overdrive button on the column shifter illuminated? Right. Cause I don't have that over driver button on? Make sense?

You must not care about Torque I take it. Troyer did a tune for open class pro - AF1, High Flows and a maggie I think - They didn't end up taking a bit a torque away - in fact the only way they could make it an all around gainer was to reduce to 2 1/4 from the front to the Y , then back to 2 1/2 again.

You might just want it to sound a certain way, that's cool - nothin wrong with that.

But if your looking to get there quicker , you have to get the backpressure right.

Here's how she will be used.

Here's the deal I'm going to make it a daily driver and will not do much heavy hauling with it at all. Bout the only time I will haul is deer season when I take my atv and stuff to the deer lease on a small trailer total trip about 180 mile round. So I know I'm never going to do major hauling, just kids around town. If those packs are not affecting my drive, I'll keep them in (been surprised how many people turn their head when she starts up ). I just want her to breathe enough so I can keep her for a while. What I'm going to do before chopping anything is clean the Throttle Body and see if that can highlight any other problems. I know the air filter is K&N and the whole air setup is stock except the filter itself. I will say as time goes on it does driver better, right now I'm on about 200 miles driven since the COP and Plug change.

Ya the RPM's don't seem right!!
What tranny do you have??I have the 4R70W and at 75mph i am also running between 70-75 mph.I have 3.55 gears and my tires are roughly 32 inches high.
There is a formula for figuring your rpm's depending on gears and tires!
When you push the OD button while driving does it downshift?
I know i would be changing the tranny fluid if you do not know when it was done.

Cant figure this one out.

Ok, I've new plugs, cops and new front and rear rotors, pads, emergency brake pads. When I jump on the gas pedal I can feel that the rpms are getting up there but in relation to my acceleration they don’t match up. So Basically I can stomp on the gas pedal and get the rpms up, but the actual acceleration is almost liked delayed. The truck has not codes and idles great. At a stop it’s so quite I have to turn down the radio to make sure its running , no shaking on the engine or anything like that. I'm really stumped? Any ideals? I want to clean the TB but I'm not sure I'm in the right direction? Only have 60k on it, no shuddering.

Are you sure the tranny isn't slipping???You say the rpm's go up but it doesn't seem to accelerate according to rpm's
I think it could be the torqque management control crap also.Depending on comp code some of these trucks were worse than others. The only way to fix that is by tuning if that is what it is.

Somethings just not right. I've had many a ford trans go out on me and know that feeling well. This is almost like a delayed accleration. If you were to look at the tack you would see the rpms up then a delay then all of a sudden it gets going? no vibration or shuddering just a slight delay. I'm wondering if I should take this puppy into a stealership for diagnosis?

I dunno That sounds kinda wierd to me.The slight hesitation could have something to do with the TMC but not sure if that is the cause.Have you tried giving it say 1/4 to 1/2 throttle from a stop.If i give mine a good 1/4 throttle it sqeels them on dry roads. On wet roads it's all over the place.(5.4,3.55LS gears, with stock size BFG's)

Just a thought, have you cheacked the TPS voltages??

Minor hijack: I have an 07 4.6L with a 3.55LS diff. Should I be able to screech the tires from a dead stop? I've tried, and I can't, even if I hold the brake down to get the RPMs up. I haven't tried in the rain yet. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong? Or maybe I just don't have the torque?

Damn , I seeing some of the problems I use to have . The exhaust has to be right or you loose everything. Since the Transgo kit went in and the AMSOIL along with friction modifier (put that right in the trans) my trans has new life - NO slippage, great rubber from the light if I tap the brake just a little. Trans has 226,000 miles and hasent shifted and performed this well since new.

Put together a good exhaust to enhance torque, beef up the tranny springs and put some quality fluid in there to keep the temps down - then try to keep the front end down.
