Just can't seem to screech em.

Guys,
I have a 01 screw 5.4L 4x4. I just did the plugs and COP and the truck runs great. But What I can's seem to do is screech the tires a little from a dead stop. It's not a hesitation so much as when I step on the gas it’s a slight delay the truck picks up fine and runs great. No Code are being thrown, but no matter what I can’t seem to make those tires squeal a little. Its funny but when I step on the gas it’s almost a very slight delay from the time I do that to when it accelerates. Like I said earlier no codes are coming up or shaking. Any advice on what I could check or if I should expect to be able to screech those tires from a stop. Now I'm not promoting this type of driving just wondering if I should be able to do that. Thanks

Just off the top of my head, I'd say tire compound/available traction, and PCM torque management. Custom tuning will help with the latter.

Other stuff - maintenance up to snuff? Quality fuel? Fresh front O2's, fuel filter? No plugged cats? No torque-robbing FartMaster muffler? LOL!

Hm Fartmaster?

You know what I'm rebuilding this truck from salvage and the previous has installed a glass pack looking tube on each tailpipe. Truck sounds cool but I'm wondering if that's robbing me of some stuff. But also for a while there I was getting that awful rotten egg smell and read where that could be a sign of plugged cats. Hmm I'll try and shoot some pics of the exhaust and post them. But I’m wondering if those glass pack looking tubes are hurting my performance. Also I did just recently put in a new fuel filter.

Hi.

Here's a thread on the same topic as yours:

...reminded me to mention gearing as a possible culprit as well. You don't have 3.08's do you?

Based on my tag 19 its "19 — 3.55, non-limited slip "
Does that matter much?

clogged cats could be one of the problems. Id just go all out, dynatech long tubes, high flow cats, and magnaflow mufflers. That would for sure spin your tires!
