1999 5.4L - 195 or 260hp?

I just bought a truck and haven't had time to really get into the engine. It's a 1999 5.4L Ford XLT.

How can I tell whether it's got the the 195hp or 260hp engine without going to a dyno?

Thanks

PI heads in '99... You've got 260hp at the crank.

Well I was reading here that 1999 had 2 separate 5.4L engines...

Scroll down to 1999...

The 190 HP engine was a flex fuel vehicle. The straight gasolene engine had 260 HP.

One is the 'Flex Fuel Vehicle' while the other is just your regular gas 5.4L.

Us 4.2 guys are gonna shove COP's in your face - something to be said about a simple coil pack and a set of plug wires.........and plugs that are easy and safe to change..........and don't become projectiles........
