5.4L crate motors

Hey, New to the forum. Searched back 15 pages or so of threads did not find to much on Crate Motors. I would like to find a replacement motor for my 01 screw. Preferably something with a little more pep. I saw some on the SHM site but those things are like 7-10K. I would like to be competitive with a new Tundra (as far as acceleration) and still have a daily driver. I really do not want a long block just want to be able to drop it in and everything be fresh. I need to be able to do motor and trans for 10 K. Lightning motor maybe? Truck still runnig decent just needs some love.
Thanks for any advice

I'm sure this is an old topic for most but any advice would be appreciated.

I really prefer to go with something new and not something from the salvage yard.

I really think I would consider used taking into consideration what a new engine would cost VS what a low miles used one would. You can find lightning engines used for under 5 grand. A new stock one would probably cost more than that. Look on e-bay. Sometimes new ones make it on there..
