I think I'm may be getting one put on friday, if my check hurrys up......

I was going to fix the manifold todday but weather changed those plans.
Thinking about just changing the manifolds out and doing headers and new plubmbing the rest of the way.... since it's all rusted.

12 bucks here for a cursory safety inspection, good for 2 years.

Zach, in IL the OBD2's do have to get a visual in addition to a code check. They park it on mirrors to see underneath.

MO also has a visual check... My F-150 looked like it had cats on...

Mirrors what the haites???

Nope no mirrors here that I know of. I'll find out in a few weeks when I do the wifes and then again next month when I do mine but never done it before. Most of the time it's done where ever I park in the parking lot.
Horn works
high and low beams
turn signals and brake lights

your good.

we had similar safety inspections here several years ago.
It was repealed and found to be unproductive.
an odd thing
the inspection was done at certified service stations. They could only put the sticker on the windshied if the car was in the cerified inspection stall at the station

There was rumors of talks a few years ago about us joining you guys and doing away with inspections all together too.
Hasnt happened yet and I doubt it does, they like the revenue it generates.

If theyd do away with it and just stick the cost onto license and renewals, I'd be happy with that.
It'd save a stop!!!!

Plus getting any work done towards the end of the month is like pulling teeth becasue there is a constant parade of cars for inspections at every shop.

Plus, the inspection shop has to write down the start and stop times on the slip, so they can be monitored to 'ensure' that they're spending the appropriate amount of time on a vehicle.

The inspection process does have its good points, such as for those people who don't maintain their vehicles. It is a hassle though, for those of us that do maintain our rides.

I'd like to see inspections eliminated, but I'm glad they dropped from annual to bi-annual - only have to fight the crowds half the time.

it is nice not to have them.
I think they actually get more revenue they always fine for anything they can find wrong at a traffic stop or roadblocks

I had to have my '07 reinspected 4 times... yes, 4 times! Why?! Because of the cheap sticker they put on the windshield. Talk about a serious profit they made off me...

All because Windex dissolves those pesky stickers...

What????? Even the cheap oil change stickers at jiffy lube don't dissolve.......

Our inspection stickers you have to scrape off with a razor blade and the longer they have been there the harder they are to get off.

Hehehe - the only worry is if a windshield is replaced. Then when the sticker is transferred, have all this security VOID stuff showing.

And being the nit-picker that I am, always ticks me off to get the extra sticker goo off from around the new sticker after the scraping smears.

They got rid of the window sticker here in Utah about 10 or more years ago. Glad for that. Now you do your emissions/saftey send it in with your registration renewal check and the sticker you get for the plate covers it. No more nasty tag in the window. They also started up that bi yearly renewal on newer cars. I dont own anything new enough cept my wifes saturn.
