Help

I have placed an order for a 08 350 cc 8ft bed srw 3.73. with the gas engine. Now I have stopped the bus. The more people I talk to the more I am considering the ps diesel.I intend on using this truck as a daily driver towing a boat and a camper a couple days a week. However I cant find any articles that compare the two engines. Fuel economy is definately a concern. an anyone tell me where I would stand with each?

Go with the diesel!

The 5.4 is a dog in that truck and the V10 drinks gas like it is going out of style! All in all, you will be much more happy with the diesel engine.

Good thing you stopped and asked, or you woud have been very disappointed!

the diesel is not as good as people think. my friend has one and he gets 10mpg in town and 13.5 on highway . were as my brother has a v10 and he gets 9 mpg in town and 13 on highway, so you tell me if it is worth the extra money for the diesel. i know you can put after market stuff on the diesel to help with mpg but it still brings the price up,and i'll bet the v10 will pull any thing you want fairly easy.

The cost difference is there obviously, BUT, the diesel will last longer.

The V10 pulls just fine, but your numbers were not MPG LOADED. Go do a test on MPG with them both loaded and see where the price difference comes in.

You will be so much more happy with a diesel. I'm with jbrew, why not wait for the new F 150 diesel?

Try posting your questions in the Diesel forum. You will get an informed answer by people who drive a diesel every day.
