VA = Troyer Performance, there in Covington. I can't see someone driving 900 miles for VMP tuning Just kidding, I got my head in sand No really, my tunes are better since the truck went on the dyno. If I lived in Florida I would have gone with Justin

LOL.. There's probably other shops in VA though. I wouldn't expect you to drive 900 miles either. I know I wouldn't.

I was fortunate to purchase my Xcal-3 and have the tech custom tune my truck in about 40 mins. I'm up here in Canada and we have only a few guys that can custom tune Xcal's.....Matt at the Mustang Shop is da man around here!
I also have the option of having my truck put on a load dyno and tweeking my tune for a small charge....otherwise I can bring my X-cal in for every mod I do for no charge.

actually boise is roughly 8 hrs depending who's driving n such. so thats probably 9or more? unless through montana's faster.

I suspect that is par for the course when you live in Idaho. You probably have to drive 8 hours just to get decent Chinese food. Don't feel bad. I have friends in the Deep South who insist that I pack roast duck in dry ice, and FedEx it overnight to Alabama & Florida.
If it makes you feel any better, I don't have an F-150 dyno tuner in my area either. Most of the speed shops around here work on import cars with a lot of stickers.

yeah im really surprised to see as many lightnings around here as i do and NONE of them are tuned. hell ones neglected as bad as my 4.6 was, i didnt walk away from that guy i ran.
i have chased down 4 locals that live within 15 mins of me with L's and none are tuned. go 45 min west and theres a few more than there are here. dont know them and they sure as hell dont stop to talk.

I finally did get my Tunes from Troyer on monday, having initially placed the order in January it was just over 4 months but boy was it worth the wait. It is like a whole new truck. Crazy HP gains all over the place, feels like there has been a parachute attached to my truck slowing it down until now.

That's all he did is had it tuned, not sure where, but that is all it needed. - What difference that made. Maybe I should get the old 98 tuned now

Wrong place for this...but I'm not the forum police. After dealing with TP exclusively for YEARS, I do agree that 4 months is ridiculous. I recently went with dyno tuning over TP's and I'm happy with the decision, even though the place put me through hell on the gear install. If I had to do mail order custom tunes, I'd go with VMP. Justin was really helpful even though I'm not a customer. He even suggested I hit the dyno rather than to have him do my tuning. If you live in / near FL, make the drive.
BTW, jbrew for the love of god get that damn thing tuned already. What are you waiting for?
